What is an HIV test?

It is a simple blood test that checks for antibodies to HIV. Antibodies are your body’s response to a viral infection

What does a negative result mean?

A negative result means that you do not have HIV antibodies in your blood.

What does a positive test result mean?

A positive result indicates HIV antibodies were found in your blood and you have been infected

 What is a window period?

This is the time lapse between infection and detection, usually three months.
